On Monday the 17th of October 2011 at 03:00 pm at the industrial zone of Tongeren-Oost in Tongeren, the building phase of Biopower Tongeren NV was inaugurated with a “first stone ceremony”.

In the presence of the mayor of Tongeren, Mr. Patrick DEWAEL and the College of Aldermen, the shareholders of Biopower Tongeren NV and guests, a tree was planted to symbolize that this biogas installation – which will be operative from quarter two 2012 - will be 100% CO₂ neutral.
